Who is
Northeastern Supply House ?
Northeastern Supply House is a family owned and operated business located in Warren, Ohio. What began as a way to earn a little extra money for his family, has grown into a company that strives to be a great resource for contractors, homeowners, and do-it-yourselfers.
Tim began installing floors in 1970 and in 1994 had the opportunity to purchase a small, but established flooring company. After becoming incorporated, this company grew upon its reputation as being excellent in quality and customer satisfaction.
We moved to our current location in the spring of 1998. Tim began to see a need to have a place that could service the contractor and the do-it-yourselfer. So, in 2000, he decided to sell the “installation” part of Northeastern Supply House and switched his focus. As members of both the HBA and the National Wood Flooring Association, we are committed to being the best at what we do.
We also love the work we do in helping the “average” homeowner find the flooring option that is perfect for your home. We enjoy helping homeowners find the flooring option that is perfect for their home.
How Do I Measure My Floor?
Please measure carefully when planning to purchase flooring materials. Think of your room in squares and rectangles. Measure your floors from baseboard to baseboard (or drywall) taking the measurement at the longest point in both directions. After you have your measurements, round up to the nearest foot. When measuring, don’t forget to include closets and underneath appliances.
FOR EXAMPLE: If your room is 17’ 6” by 22’8”. You will use 18’ X 23’ to calculate your square footage. Multiply those 2 numbers to obtain your square footage. In our example, this would be 414 square feet.
When you have done this, measure again! For herringbone flooring, there is more waste associated with this method than with traditional installation. It will be necessary to add 15% waste into your figures. Using our example, you would need, 62 additional square feet, bringing the amount of flooring you need to 476 square feet.
Now you are ready to determine how many boxes of flooring you will need. Each box contains a certain amount of flooring. Divide the square footage of each box into the square footage of your room to determine how many boxes you will need. Please be certain that you order enough, it is very disappointing to not have enough to complete your job.
